Ministry Opportunities for the New Year

The beginning of a the year is a good time to consider new ministry opportunities for you and your family. Pray about the ways God would have you to show the love of Christ to those less fortunate. One of the goals of the Mission to Nashville and North America is to unite the time, talents, treasures, and desires of Christ’s body at Covenant with the needs and opportunities of local organizations serving the poor and needy in the Nashville area. In addition to the significant financial support we give to church plants and Reformed University Fellowship campus ministries, we support about 20 regional ministries serving in the areas of mercy, compassion, justice, evangelism, and discipleship. All of the ministries we support proclaim the Gospel of Christ!

The Next Door  is one of these ministries. A Residential Transition Center for women reentering society from prison, The Next Door seeks to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of these  women in crisis through a structured, six-month program that equips them to develop a life of wholeness and hope. The staff combines the best clinical practices with a Christ-centered approach to give each woman an opportunity to understand God’s grace and to experience transformation to a new way of life. The announcement below explains The Next Door’s Adopt a Night and Bring Dinner” program. This is one of the many ways you and your family can support the ministry partners of Covenant Presbyterian.

You can be part of the journey to wholeness for the women at The Next Door! A healthy meal served in a family atmosphere is foundational to physical healing, and it models what a family dinner time can be. Modeling healthy family behavior for residents is part of equipping them for their transition to permanent housing. Dinner is prepared for 25 to 30 residents and is from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This is a perfect ministry project for families and groups. Email Lucretia Mobbs, Volunteer & Church Partnership Coordinator or call her at 615-251-8805 ext. 219 to adopt your night!
