About

Covenant Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), founded in 1990 upon the inerrancy of Scripture, the only infallible rule of faith and practice.  The Lord’s blessing has been evident in the growth of membership, facilities, and ministries.  Here are a few quick points that testify to His goodness:

  • Worship that is lively, liturgical, and sacramental
  • Music that is Christ-centered and engaging
  • Ministry opportunities at home and around the world
  • An experienced pastoral staff eager to serve
  • Fellowship suppers and mid-week ministries
  • Men’s and women’s Bible studies
  • Love of children and youth

Our History and Mission

Covenant Presbyterian Church was organized in the fall of 1990 by the Nashville Presbytery in order to establish a ministry in the heart of Nashville. The first worship service met at the Sugartree Clubhouse with 38 people present. By the spring of 1991 over 100 charter members had committed themselves to the church. Located in the heart of Green Hills and therefore easily accessible from every direction membership today numbers over 2000.

Our mission may be defined as proclaiming the gospel, living the gospel, and sharing the gospel, here and around the world. God has blessed the church with growth in ministry, missions, members, and facilities. In the spring of 2001 the church relocated to its present site and dedicated a new fellowship hall and educational facilities. Within 18 months the Lord provided a spacious new family life center, youth center, and additional classrooms. In April 2009 God again blessed the congregation with a beautiful new sanctuary. A chapel and additional educational space are on the drawing board for the future.

From its inception the church has been established on the authority of Scripture as the Word of God. Corporate worship is central to the life of the church. Preaching is expository, worship is joyfully liturgical, music is enthusiastic, and communion is observed weekly. Wednesday night Bible studies are held during the school year and for approximately one month during the summer. These services are more casual and feature an outstanding dinner prepared by our staff.

Through the years the youth and children’s ministries have experienced significant growth. Discovery clubs, Bible studies, service projects, and mission trips highlight these ministries. In 2001 The Covenant School was established, serving grades pre-K-6. Additionally our men’s and women’s ministries, led by qualified staff, serve as wonderful opportunities for people to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Savior.
