Session Organizational Structure

Coordinating Committee:
The purpose of the Coordinating Committee is to ensure and support the effective and efficient operation of the Session, so that the Session and Pastors in turn will provide effective leadership of Covenant Presbyterian Church in its worship, ministries, and various services.

Worship Committee:
The purpose of the Worship Committee is to serve the congregation of Covenant Presbyterian Church for the glory of God through its oversight of corporate worship, administration of the sacraments, the church’s music programs and services, and related ministries.

Personnel Committee:
The purpose of the Personnel Committee is to administer and apply approved personnel policies of the Church with respect to all employees of the church; this includes ordained, administrative, and other support staff, but does not include The Covenant School.

Christian Education Committee:
The purpose of the Christian Education Committee is to help every member of Covenant Presbyterian Church grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and in the whole counsel of God.

Leadership Development Committee:
The purpose of the Leadership Development Committee is to serve the Session by: identifying, recruiting, and developing willing and able leaders for ordination as Ruling Elders and Deacons; recommending individuals for session committee leadership and membership; and conducting officer training and development.

Discipleship Committee:
The purpose of the Discipleship Committee is to serve the Session and the members of Covenant Presbyterian Church by the loving guidance and discipline of the church members, with the goal of restoring all members to a walk that glorifies God and is faithful to their covenantal vows.

Congregational Care Committee
The purpose of the Congregational Care Committee is to facilitate the shepherding work and responsibilities of the entire Session and the assimilation of new church members. The ultimate goal of the committee is for every member to get to know other members of the church, to feel part of the church community, and to support one another through work, study, prayer and/or fellowship. Opportunities for shepherding can be found throughout the church: Sunday School groups, Bible study groups, WIC groups, small group dinners and various ministries.

World Missions Committee:
The purpose of the World Missions Committee is to serve the Session in promoting the expansion of the kingdom internationally through the gifts, talents and resources God has given Covenant Presbyterian Church by sponsoring missionaries to other countries for the spread of the Gospel.

Committee on Mission to Nashville and North America (Home Missions):
The purpose of the Committee on Mission to Nashville and North America (MNNA) is to advance God’s kingdom in the Nashville region and North America through providing support to Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) church plants, Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) campus ministries, PCA seminarians, and outreach organizations serving in the areas of mercy, compassion, justice, evangelism, and discipleship.
