WHEN: July 6 – 13, 2024

WHERE: Nassau, Bahamas

WHAT: Join the team as we partner with Covenant supported missionaries, Christiana and Julian Russell, by hosting a children's camp in the small town of Nassau. Families will rotate between five stations (VBS, reading, writing, STEM, and sports/recreation/music) to bring the hope and love of Jesus to the kids of the Bahamas. The program will run Monday through Friday, with several opportunities for going to the beach, fellowshipping with other families, and being with the Russells! The team will be staying at a Christian camp in cabins with bunk beds separated by families. We hope you'll join us!

WHO:All Covenant members are invited to join in this short-term mission opportunity: families, single adults, couples, seniors, and any member in between.
*Please note, children attending the trip must be in 1st grade or older.

PRICE: The total cost per person is approximately $2,300.
Covenant is committed to supporting participants, should they choose, to offset partial trip costs. These funds are allocated to assist our members in participating in the Bahamas trip.

Participants may choose to:

  • fully fund
  • opt for supplemental support to offset the cost of the trip

The $2,300 price includes all lodging, luggage, food, airfare, transportation for the entire week, trip, medical insurance, and all project costs while in the Bahamas.

Covenant believes that fundraising is an essential aspect of any mission trip as it grows and strengthens each participant’s faith in the Lord’s provision. Covenant wants this trip to be as accessible as possible for all participants, so there will be multiple ways to fundraise their portion of the trip cost. TRAVEL:
Covenant has reserved group airfare on American Airlines traveling to Nassau out of Nashville, TN. All participants will depart on Saturday, July 6, and return Saturday, July 13, 2023. A valid U.S. Passport is required for all travelers.

Frequently asked questions

 

How are participants selected from the registration process?

  • Registrants are selected on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration link opens on March 22, 2024. Link to the registration portal will be available via the churchwide weekly email and on the Covenant missions webpage.

Does my child need a passport?

  • Yes, children of all ages need a valid U.S. passport to travel internationally. For more information, visit travel.state.gov. Passport costs are not included in the price of the trip.

How will we travel to Nassau?

  • The team will be traveling together to and from Nassau from Nashville, TN. Group airfare has been reserved on American Airlines leaving Saturday, July 6, and returning Saturday, July 13, 2024. A valid U.S. Passport will be required for all team participants.

Do I need special immunizations before traveling to Belize?

  • In addition to routine vaccinations, the CDC recommends all travelers have Hepatitis A and B before traveling to the Bahamas. Visit CDC’s website for the official information, and consult your physician before receiving any vaccinations. Vaccinations are not included in the price of the trip.

Is my $100 deposit refundable?

  • Your initial deposit of $100 is only refundable if the entire trip is canceled or if your trip application is not accepted. We encourage you to consider all of the costs of the trip, both financially and necessary time commitments, before completing your initial registration.

Will there be team meetings in preparation for the trip?

  • Yes, we will have a few team meetings prior to the trip during MidWeek on Wednesdays from 6-7pm. Specific dates TBD.

    If I can’t go on the trip, how else can I help? 

    • We want to encourage our entire church body to join in on being a part of all short-term mission trips that Covenant sends. If you can’t go, you can help by:
      • serving on our prayer team
      • helping with pre-trip organizational tasks and material preparation
      • assisting in gathering needed materials and resources for the specific mission projects
      • contribute financially to offset team costs and project expenses

    Do the trip fees cover everything on the trip?

    • The $2,300 trip fee covers airfare, luggage, transportation, food, and lodging related to the mission trip. There will be additional opportunities for excursions during the trip that would be covered by each participant individually and outside of the trip fee. These opportunities are completely optional and not mandatory. Souvenirs would be purchased at the discretion and expense of the participant outside of trip fees.
