The Beauty of Biblical Sexuality explores the centrality of our sexuality as a window into the greatest mysteries of God's creation and redemption through discussions on Revelation, Redirection, and Resurrection.  

The topic of gender and sexuality has consumed society, but Christians often feel ill-equipped to engage this cultural moment. However, the Christian tradition offers the most compelling story of sexuality ever told because God is the designer of gender and sex, and there is a profound purpose behind his design.

Join us for this two-day conference on the Beauty of Biblical Sexuality, in which we explore God’s design for human sexuality, gender, and what it means to be created in God’s image. Our speaker, Rev. Robert Cunningham will lead us through Scripture’s teaching on sexuality in creation, fall, and redemption, showing how God’s Word reveals the true, good, and beautiful design for human sexuality and gender. This conference seeks to address these mature yet important biblical truths with honesty, wisdom, and compassion.

This event will be for parents, teenagers, and our entire congregation to explore these complex issues together from a biblical perspective. We invite adults and students in middle school and older to join this conference.

Since our culture is already teaching most teens about sexuality and gender, the church must wisely teach on these issues from a biblical lens. Please use discernment in deciding if your teen or preteen is ready for this conference.

“Is my child ready for this conference and these conversations?”

It’s not always easy to determine when your child is ready for the mature but necessary biblical truths about God’s design for sexuality. To help you decide if your teen may be ready, consider these guidelines from our speaker, Robert Cunningham:

• Has your child reached puberty?
  • If so, their own body is telling them they are ready for this discussion.
  • The greater culture is already discipling them on sexuality and gender—the church must not be silent.
• Are they hearing about these topics elsewhere?
  • Do they encounter discussions about sexuality and identity at school, online, or in media?
  • Would you rather they learn about it through a biblical lens rather than from culture?
• Are they mature enough to engage in a candid discussion?
  • It is often best to be frank, honest, and direct, but not graphic or needlessly provocative.
  • Teens may feel a bit uncomfortable at times (especially sitting down with their parents!), but in a healthy and important way.
  • If you begin the conversation, it will likely open the door for deeper family discussions over time.

Remember, every child is different—this is part of God’s wonderful design too.
